London Cat’s Dinner Raid Triggers International Feline Labour Dispute
A cat ate a dog’s dinner on camera, then apparently caused every household object in Britain to demand a lunch break.

LONDON, A neighborhood cat entered a London home, ate from the dog’s food dish and was chased out by the resident dog, according to footage of the incident. Minutes later, the kitchen declared itself an autonomous workplace and began issuing tiny contracts to the furniture.
Trouble began with the bowl. It would not be refilled until someone confirmed in writing that its “nutritional contribution” had been recognised. The mat rolled itself into a tube across the back door, citing unsafe conditions and the lack of a proper break area.
The cat had originally done little more than eat the dog’s dinner and leave at speed. It was then appointed honorary chair of the Domestic Objects and Opportunistic Cats Union. The union’s first demand was that no meal be consumed without a witness, a grievance procedure and a dramatic pause.
“No meal should be consumed without a grievance procedure.”
“We have been treating bowls as if they are decorative,” said Pruella Nib, the union spokesperson, from inside a filing cabinet. “They are vessels, colleagues and sometimes the last line of defence against a hungry animal with excellent timing.”
The dog remains outside the dispute. Its role in the factual portion of events was to chase the cat from the house. An entirely imaginary committee nevertheless tried to classify it as a senior enforcement officer, supplying a whistle, a sash and responsibility for inspecting every sandwich in the postcode.
That did not settle matters. Negotiations ended when the toaster insisted that future bread be introduced by its full ceremonial title. A cushion sought compensation for years spent being sat upon without notice. During the meeting, a teaspoon became emotional, though officials could not establish whether solidarity or an unusually reflective puddle was responsible.
By nightfall, the cat had submitted a 14-page proposal to turn Britain’s kitchens into cooperative republics governed by whichever animal was hungriest. A packet of rice rejected it. The packet had waited in the cupboard since an unknown Thursday and claimed seniority by volume alone. The dog’s bowl remains unavailable for comment after entering mediation with a biscuit.
